ASV Southern Supercluster - LMC Project
600 Hours of Starlight
I have finally finished processing the ASV Southern Supercluster LMC Project! This was a truly monumental effort involving 23 contributors who collected more than 600 hours of Ha, OIII, and RGB data. The diversity of the gear was incredible, utilizing more than ten different scopes (ranging from SCTs and refractors to camera lenses) and ten different cameras to produce this dataset.
Although I initially attempted an RGB edit, I decided to switch directions and ended up settling on a HOO Foraxx palette which really makes the details pop. It took quite a few hours of careful processing to balance the image out, but the challenge was well worth it. It was lots of fun working on such a massive collaboration. A huge thank you to the coordinator, ASV and all the other contributors involved!
Eddie Pang, @pangdemonium1 - Thank you for the coordination on this project
