The Dusty Crown - Corona Australis

Dust. Dust Everywhere

This image captures the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, a star-forming region located roughly 430 light-years from Earth. It is famous for its Dark Dungeons, which are dust lanes that snake across the image and also the bright blue reflection nebula. The bright ball of stars in the corner is NGC 6723, a distant globular cluster that just happens to lie along the same line of sight.
Fun fact - "Corona" is Latin for Crown and "Australis" is Latin for Southern. "The Southern Crown"
